🐝 Winter losses are one of the hardest realities o 🐝 Winter losses are one of the hardest realities of beekeeping. This photo shows a cluster that didn’t make it through and no matter how long you keep bees, it never gets any easier. Sadly, you can see the queen in the middle of the cluster, marked with a green dot.

Often, losses like this are linked to varroa. It’s a stark reminder that our bees are livestock and that caring for them also means accepting that loss is sometimes part of the journey.

Here at Buckleys Bees, moments like this are exactly why we focus on breeding bees with Varroa Resistant traits. It’s sad to lose a colony, but these bees are part of a bigger picture - livestock that is evolving in front of us, adapting to survive alongside varroa.

We continue to learn, we reflect and we keep going. We’re fighting for stronger, more resilient bees to support our ecosystem for future generations! 🐝 🌎
Proof that dragons and bees share the same ecosyst Proof that dragons and bees share the same ecosystem! ✨

Emma our CEO and Jack our Operations Director had the privilege of spending time with former Dragon’s Den star, entrepreneur and investor, Sarah Willingham!

Emma said: “Sarah’s values around people, purpose and long-term thinking strongly resonate with what we’re building at Buckley’s Bees.

Sarah’s inspiring journey as an incredible businesswoman is a reminder that successful businesses don’t happen by accident. They’re built through clarity of values, the courage to back them and a genuine commitment to doing the right things properly — even when it’s harder.

At Buckley’s Bees, we believe sustainability isn’t a bolt-on or a badge; it’s something that has to sit at the heart of decision-making. Hearing Sarah talk so openly about her experiences, lessons learned and the importance of balance in leadership was both grounding and inspiring.”

There’s always something powerful about learning from people who have walked the path before you and who are willing to share not just the wins, but the realities behind them. 🐉 🐝
