Who are Buckley’s Bees?

Buckley’s Bees is a family-run business.

With more than 80 years of beekeeping experience, we are a dedicated and friendly team of professional beekeepers who are committed to reversing the decline of the bee population.

We are registered members of the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA) and the Bee Improvement and Bee Breeders’ Association (BIBBA), and support a number of scientific studies and projects focused on the health and wellbeing of bees and other pollinators.

We’re aiming to:

  • Sustainably reverse the decline of the native honeybee population.
  • Raise the profile and importance of the honeybee within the ecosystem.
  • Enhance the viability and success of natural pollination and other pollinators.
  • Holistically maximise and balance the environment, habitat and health of the bees.
  • Create engagement and employment opportunities.
  • Educate people and look to encourage future generations of beekeepers.

Buckley’s Bees story

Buckley’s Bees was born out of absolute passion and an evidence-based belief in the amazing value of the honeybee and the good they do in the world.

David’s experience, knowledge and inspiration, coupled with Emma’s drive to raise awareness and create new opportunities, is taking the skill of beekeeping to new places and to younger generations.

Bee part of our passion

We believe passionately in the amazing role of the honeybee and the good they do in the world. We are motivated not by profit but by a genuine desire to make a difference.

In 1900, there were an estimated 1,000,000 honeybee colonies in the UK which, today, are believed to have reduced to around 270,000 colonies due to a combination of pesticides, parasites, disease and habitat loss.  So we need your help!

There are various options available with equally varying levels of involvement:

Host your own beehives & sponsor a beehive

Hire a hive, take a beekeeping course or get a sneak peak into the life of a beekeeper

Become a Buckley’s Bees beekeeper and be part of making a difference.
