    🐝 A Big Step Forward for Our Treatment-Free Bee 🐝 A Big Step Forward for Our Treatment-Free Bees! 🐝 Spotted at the hives a couple of days ago: our bees were removing the exoskeletons of larvae likely infested with Varroa. While it might look unusual, this is actually fantastic news — it’s a clear sign of hygienic behaviour and strong Varroa-resistant traits in our native breeder colonies. This colony is on a solid floorboard and why you can see so many more outside the entrance of the hive, we’re sure the bees are clearing out the Varroa mites too on the solid floors. Whereas varroa mesh floorboards the mites drop through. This natural response is exactly what we aim for in sustainable, treatment-free beekeeping.
